i didn't do as much fashion figures that quarter. it was mostly boring flats (technical clothing drawing). so here are some more marker renderings. and yes.. that's catwomen, if she were a high fashion runway model. hahah and she has kitty paw heels on.

i have mixed feeling about these earlier fidm marker renderings. Don't really like how anorexic the girls look, but I was asked to draw them that way by the teacher. and the strange proportions kinda stuck around for a few quarters.

8th term photo shoot

so for the portfolio design lab, tillinghast and clayton had me make a dress and do a photo shoot with the dress, because i told them i was going to pursue fashion design after art center. the dress was the hardest thing i did before graduating. i literally had to teach myself to make and drape clothing, without much prior experience. it was crazy, making textures and silkscreening the fabric. the inside of the dress has silkscreened root patterns in the fabric. the dress was inspired by the iris. i read iris's are indicators of spring, so there are 3 layers of white fabric which go from opaque to translucent like melting snow. the inside layer is the silkscreened root fabric. the highwaisted skirt on the inside is the bulb root of the flower. the iris it self is the purple blue bra/ neck piece. enjoy. oh yeah credits:

this was a set of women's sportswear i used as part of my entrance portfolio to get into fidm. there's more, but i like these best. i might post the other ones later. oh and for everyone out there reading this and wonding why i used the term sportswear to describe career wear, it's what they use in the industry to describe career wear. activewear is what we normally think of as "sportswear." activewear is clothing designed for a particular sport. yeah.. confusing... isn't it?

this was the final book i made for the light and color class. these are pictures i took with the pinhole camera i made. it was a pretty fun project. each section is a double page spread. i didn't include the back cover and endpage. it pretty much looks like the coverpage without the text.

so i just started classes at fidm. here's some of the drawings i did for hw. the first few are naked because that was the assignment, and the others are topless because we were only allowed to draw plain bottoms with no texture. we were allowed to add accessories and shoes, so i put some texture into those. haha ah whatever.
